KILLER nurse Lucy Letby was nicknamed Duracell by colleagues because she was always working.
A former agency nurse said Letby “always seemed to be on the ward” during the time they worked together at the Countess of Chester Hospital in 2015-16.
She said: “People joked, ‘Yeah, Lucy’s like the Duracell bunny’.
“It’s horrifying to think she was probably working all those extra hours to give her the opportunity to kill more babies.”
“The former colleague also described Letby as “bland”.
The nurse who was employed by the NHS Trust as an agency worker told The Sun: “I had several shifts at the back end of 2015 and early 2016, and I think Lucy was working on all but one or two of them.
“Lucy just always seemed to be working. I remember mentioning it one day, and a couple of people joked ‘yeah Lucy’s like the Duracell bunny’.
“Apparently she was saving hard to buy things she wanted for her house, so was always offering to do overtime.
“At the time I just thought she was a dedicated nurse, who loved her job.
“But now, well it’s just horrifying to think she was probably working all those extra hours to give her the opportunity to be on the ward and to be able to kill more babies.”
